Life with Autism & an Ileostomy

  A gastrostomy tube (also called a G-tube) is a tube inserted through the belly that brings nutrition directly to the stomach. It's one of the ways doctors can make sure kids who have trouble eating get the fluid and calories they need. 

Stalen got his g-tube in March 2022 at the age of 7. He has gained over 11lbs, in the 4 months since his surgery. 

Stalen still eats all his favorite foods too!

The g-tube has helped so much with increasing his calorie intake, gaining weight, taking medication and staying hydrated.
